Skiing in Chamonix
Jason and I spent 2 days skiing in France this past weekend. We absolutely loved it there and had 2 glorious days in the mountains. We skiied Brevent and Grand Montets resorts, explored the town itself, ate delicious, rich French food, drank great wine and got lots of sun on our faces as there was not a cloud in the sky. We rented a little Fiat car, that we called our Bourne-mobile all weekend ...it was tiny, but allowed us to squeeze through the small side streets of Turnio and Chamonix as well as parking in teeny tiny parking spots in the downtown areas. I also tried my luck at driving a manual car for the first time, why not try to learn on the tollways going through the Alps? (i stalled at the toll booth and getting gas - whoops!) I could have stayed in Chamonix for a week - two days was not nearly enough. Enjoy the pictures!

Hampton Court
In late Feb, I ran a race around the grounds of Hampton Court and then spent the rest of the day touring the palace. A quite beautiful place, that is "cool" right now, given the recent resurgance of interest in the Tudor dynasty. I am reading all the Phillipa Gregory novels about Henry VIII, the Boleyn family, Catherine, Elizabeth, etc.
Friends in London
In late February, Cathy and Adin came for a visit to London and spent a week with me. We had a great time on a historical walk, a trip to Harrods, a walk through Hyde Park, great restaurants and even shared a few pints at a pub, or two. It was wonderful to have friends in town and I loved seeing "my city" through new eyes.
New York - Feb 09
I cant believe that I have not updated this blog since Christmas! That is really terrible of me. So i will keep these entries short and sweet as to get as many posted as fast as I can. The holidays were wonderful and I was able to spend a good amount of time at home in Charlotte and at home in Maryland as well.
Then in Feb I was able to travel to NYC for business. Jason was there as well and because of a unfortunate/fortunate twist of fate (forgotten passports) we missed our flights to London and ended up spending Valentine's Day in NYC.
We stayed in the financial district and we also went out to Brooklyn to visit my Nana and some of my Dad's family. A great weekend overall!
